Subject: A Sleepless Night

A Sleepless Night

Restlessly tossing and incessantly turning all night long,
I was entertained by the sound of the melody
of the wise old owl's nocturnal song.
The brightly twinkling stars were tenderly embracing each other
as they adorned the clear midnight sky,
when an occasional cottonesque little cloud was slowly floating by.
The birds were merrily chirping and singing,
As the bells of slumber were softly ringing.
The moon was laughing gleefully,
As the leaves were rustling rhythmically.
The whistling wind was pitter-pattering,
incessantly pounding upon my door,
As the tiny foamy jocund waves
sprightly danced upon the seashore.
For nature's show was truly amazing, as you can see,
but sleep would not arrive and I yearned for peaceful tranquility.
I lie in bed counting sheep,
And Mother Nature magically eased me to sleep.
