Dad's Sock By: Cynthia Groopman Sometimes we have no idea why certain things happen and it seems mysterious to us. My dad had his own set of furniture in his room where he placed his socks, and it was in a big bureau drawer. I haven't been in that room or inside that bureau drawer bureau since 1996 when dad was called to heaven by God. In 2007, on a Thursday afternoon, while folding my laundry and putting my clothes in my own dresser drawer,, I came upon a very special cherish item, which was dad's sock. I felt it and my heart began to sing and dance and a picture of my dad putting on that sock went right to my mind. I pictured dad dressing and putting his socks on last. I also pictured how dad would carefully put his socks together and match them and how he would cherish every pair. Then, in my mind's ear, I heard dad whisper to me gently that when I found that sock something extraordinary would happen to me. I was aghast and awe struck. I just stood there pondering and basking in spiritual elation. I carefully placed dad's socks in his dresser drawer in his bedroom. I felt an extraordinary spiritually elation feeling. two days, later, I was presented with a plaque containing the Congressional Record of the united states an and in it my United states Congress member had written all about me. That is quite an honor. Oh I had a wow moment. Then I took a journey to the day when I found dad's sock by accident and remembered what he had gently whispered to me. Yes, that sock had such power in it. Our loved ones are special to us and every article of their clothing they wore on earth has a majestic quality and full of the person's love they had for you.
