columns_info_for has been an unmitigated disaster; but you simply didn't know 
better, I should have done and I still applied the patch.

So, we'll move the hairy magic into Schema::Loader and anybody who's relying 
on the current implementation can blame me for putting it through a 
deprecation cycle, since it's my fault it went into the source tree in the 
first place.
