Your patches look nice, and I would love for you to commit them.  Do you
have a Google Account?  A Google Account is required in order to commit
to Google Code repositories, and once you have one you can commit many
of these patches (such as this one).

Because I'm not interested in "self-hosting" (too much domain
administration), and the choice to use Google Code was made before I
joined the project.

That said, Google Code doesn't currently support git, so moving to git
isn't an option at this time (sadly, as I prefer git).

That said, Google Code does support Mercurial, so it may be something to
consider in the future (or migrate to a host that does support git, but
the being the lazy SOB that I am I'm not inclined to move just for git).
