I noticed this too when I started using dbmail, and misspelled it a couple of 
times, but as a result of using it quite often, I now spell maintenance 
perfectly every time, and I can type the whole command in a about half a 
second now. 

Practice makes perfect. :) 

The point here is I'm not sure if I agree that is should be changed because 
it's easily misspelled, but I do agree it's pretty long. 

A really simple solution would to just make a shell alias. 

.bashrc: 
alias dbmail-util='dbmail-maintenance'

... would do the trick nicely. You could get fancy and do things like this 
too:

alias dbmail-delete-old='dbmail-maintenance -dp'
alias dbmail-cleanup='dbmail-maintenance -cf'

or something like that.
