It's just one part of the picture, getting more of the bounce and postmaster addresses to be configurable. I didn't think that auto replies and notifications were on the short list of things to rewrite, so we should schedule the config changes into that big picture in some way -- but the concise change that Wolfram has suggested could probably go in ahead of other parts of a rewrite.
