And I just thought of another thing: The solution mentioned earlier only works on Postfix. But not only that: It only works on the RDBMSs that Postfix has support for, which are currently PostgreSQL and MySQL. We'd like to run on many more possible systems.
So.. it's a no-go. However, we can put support for this in DBMail if the aliases system is revised a bit (to make sure that we can make a switch in dbmail.conf to not send stuff to external aliases, to avoid sending stuff twice). Anyway, this has no priority whatsoever. The current aliases system just works.
