What are you referring to. There's no socket creation in imapd.c. All socket creation for pop/imap/lmtp takes
place in server.c (CreateSocket in the 2.0 branch)
And yes. Socket creation in imap is definitely an error condition. If the daemon can't bind to the imap port,
game's up.
