You will be much better off making a diff of your changes from 2.0.0 and seeing if those patch against 2.0.4 reasonably cleanly. Your changes might also be useful to a broader audience than you think. Consider joining the dbmail-dev mailing list to discuss what work you've done and if you might be able to contribute it back to mainline DBMail development.
