If your having problems browsing folder on an imap server with mutt, it might be a bug. I've been having an issue with it using DBMail + mutt on a new Debian install. I tracked down the my issue in the mutt source. Seem like mutt was adding multiple delemeters to the end of the mailbox and DBMail was unable to match the folders.
If you can build mutt from source and want to try the patch I'll send it to you.
