;) Nice call.... so yes it wasn't started. Is there a
change I need to make to the startup script in Debian to
have that auto start?

Pardon the tedious first question, but have you started
dbmail-lmtpd?
If so, try 'telnet localhost 24' to see if you can
connect to it.

Can some one give me an example of how to have postfix
pass
messages through lmtp to dbmail?

I am getting the following warnings:

postfix/lmtp[7337]: 80B618A8070:
to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
relay=none, delay=0, status=deferred (connect to
localhost[127.0.0.1]: Connection refused)

So far I have this setup on my system:

postfix master.cf
   dbmail-lmtp unix - - n - - lmtp -v

postfix main.cf
  mailbox_transport = dbmail-lmtp:127.0.0.1:24

dbmail dbmail.conf
  [LMTP]
  PORT=24 # Port to bind to.

Thanks
