As I use postgresql, that won't work.

I use:

mysqladmin create dbmaila
mysqladmin create dbmailb
mysqldump -d dbmail|mysql dbmaila
mysql dbmailb < sql/mysql/create_tables.mysql
mysqldump -d dbmaila > dbmaila.sql
mysqldump -d dbmailb > dbmailb.sql
diff dbmaila.sql dbmailb.sql

this should provide you with a pretty good idea of any changes.
