The following issue has been RESOLVED. ====================================================================== http://www.dbmail.org/mantis/view.php?id=399 ====================================================================== Reported By: stanley Assigned To: paul ====================================================================== Project: DBMail Issue ID: 399 Category: IMAP daemon Reproducibility: sometimes Severity: major Priority: normal Status: resolved target: Resolution: fixed Fixed in Version: 2.2 branch ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 22-Aug-06 00:19 CEST Last Modified: 09-Nov-06 19:31 CET ====================================================================== Summary: Squirrelmail and FelamiMail (eGroupware) cannot always retrieve attachments. Description: Both clients do show their symbol for an attachment in the messages list, but after opening the email it is not possible to open the attachment. Attachment is either shown as 0 bytes (squirrelmail often does this with message/rfc822 type attachments) or there no indication of an attachment at all. Currently it looks as if this happens more often on multipart/alternative messages than on multipart/mixed messages, but I could be wrong about that. Thunderbird *does* show all the attachments that I've tried that were missing from Squirrelmail and FelamiMail. ======================================================================
---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 22-Aug-06 00:52 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, what versions of Glib and Gmime are you running, in case this is actually a Gmime parsing issue? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- stanley - 22-Aug-06 08:21 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I am using glib 2.10.3 and gmime 2.1.19. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 01-Oct-06 21:41 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Stanley, could you please provide us with a message that does this for you? I haven't been able to reproduce this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lkneschke - 03-Oct-06 16:45 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Paul! I try to create a test case for you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alex - 04-Oct-06 14:18 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The file sm_attachment_failure.gzip contains a message which squirrelmail 1.5.2-cvs Snapshot (squirrelmail-20061003_0000-CVS) failed to process correctly. Instead of downloading an attacment of a forwarded message, it downloads the whole forwarded message. Message generated as such: 2 plaintext messages with odt attachments sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Composed with Thunderbird 1.5.0.7. [EMAIL PROTECTED] forwarded both messages with MS Outlook 2000 as plaintext back to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The message dump is from dspam in debugging mode. This is a copy of the message, that was inserted by dspam into dbmail. DBMail SVN version from July. I'd say it's a SM bug. I'll try to make a message, which Thunderbird fails to process correctly too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lkneschke - 04-Oct-06 14:35 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem happens only, if you request a part by id from the forwarded message. Thunderbird can display such messages, because TB downloads the whole forwarded message and parses the message itself. But SM and FeLaMiMail requesting a specific part of the forwarded message. And that's where dbmail fails. dbmail does not deliver the requested part, but the whole forwarded message. Somehow dbmail does not keep track correctly of the internal part numbers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alex - 04-Oct-06 18:07 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This might or might not be related. Attached file 2_docs.gz contains a message, which attachments Thunderbird fails to get. But when you open one of the forwarded mails, either doc2.eml or doc1.eml with TB. And then try to save the attachements, TB succeeds. SM fails completely. This is Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 and latest freshly compiled dbmail svn. >From the body on the message: This message contains 2 other messages with MS Word .doc attachments. These two messages are forwarded with MS Outlook 2000, using HTML and MS Word as the editor (default MS Outlook settings). This is the body of the new third message. The first two messages were created in the same way with MS Outlook in HTML in a MS Word window. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 19-Oct-06 09:58 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Guys, I've checked in some changes that (hopefully) fix this. Plz try svn-head. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 09-Nov-06 19:31 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul, looks like you do indeed have this fixed.
