HELP! ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anne - 24-Jan-07 10:31 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile I've stopped all dbmail services to avoid customers getting empty messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anne - 24-Jan-07 10:32 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Another note: / filesystem was full but the database is on /usr and /var which are separate filesystems with plenty of space. I doubt this was a problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anne - 24-Jan-07 10:53 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Please let me know how to debug. I need to find out first if these empty messages can be salvated. If so, I won't startup the services until it's fixed. But if the messages are lost anyway I might as well startup everything. Lots of customers waiting..... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anne - 24-Jan-07 11:09 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The empty messages all have a physical message size of 103. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 24-Jan-07 18:01 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As repeatedly noted on the mailing list, you need to set trace_syslog=5 in dbmail.conf, make sure you have disk space to capture those extremely verbose logs, restart the services to pick up the new trace level, do something to trigger the bug you are reporting, and then attach the logs to the bug (please do not paste them into the comments, please do attach a file, bz/g/zipped if it is very large). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 24-Jan-07 18:03 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As an aside, if you have customers, you owe it to them to have a backup server. I don't owe your customers anything; they're not paying me! We'll fix this bug as quickly as we can, because we fix all bugs as quickly as we can. If you need it fixed in a deadline, Paul and Lars are selling very good support services at dbmail.eu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anne - 24-Jan-07 18:39 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I actually typed something horribly wrong: "I won't start up the services until it's fixed." should have been "I won't start up the services until it's safe to do so" Of course I won't expect you to fix it asap because it's indeed my problem, not yours. I hope this clears things up :-) Concerning your remark about having a backup server, I will post a message on the list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 30-Jan-07 20:35 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm closing this bug. Clearly not a reproducable dbmail bug at all.
