Actually procmail was the reason for my trouble, so I uninstalled it;)
If you can find that, a command line like this :
cat somemailbox.mbx | formail -e -f -s /usr/local/sbin/dbmail-smtp -u
username

Good hint, thanks. Will try this the next time.
FWIW, what I did now is the following, I used Mozilla Mail to import the
mbox, then copied the imported mails to an empty imap folder and used my
mail filters then to move them into the correct mailbox.
