Again: what version of 'make' are you using??? Yours doesn't smell like it's GNU
make? try 'man make'. For GNU make 'make -v' will tell you it's version:

So from the looks of it you're probably running some other kind of 'make',
perhaps a native (??) bsd variant.

I keep getting this after i try to upgrade my FreeBSD port version
with a (march 26) daily snapshot. ./configure --with-mysql finishes
ok but when i do a make i get the error below.
