Hi, thanx for al the reply's

I going to make a start with it.
I also making howto's of it so when im ready you all can take your advantage
of if.

here's what im going to setup.
I have 3-4 debian boxes

1 box does, smtp/pop and web, this one runs postfix(+mysql) + amavisd-new +
claMav
+ Spammassassin, pyzon , razor, dcc-client and has a greylisting,   ( P4-2,8
512Ram, IDE-raid-1 )
this is the gateway and mailrelay, ( No Imap here )

i'll split the other proccesses over the other 2/3 boxes.
an P3-866 512 Ram scsi320-raid-1
and a P3-1000 Mhz 512 ram, no raid.

and i going to buy an other machine, so if the imap is to slow i can
setup this one for the mysql / imap config.

this setup is already running on a dbmail 1.2 box ( AMD 1800+ 512 Ram,
this one also has postfix mysql amavis etc like above,
this one also has Ssmtp-auth running over pam-mysql i auth against
the dbmail password.

i have a set of configs ready for debian i somebody wants it. ( debian sarge
set )
no howto ready for this one yet.

louis

}} Hi Louis:
}} I hunch your box is an SECC2 866; more stability and
}} horsepower than numbers suggest.
}}
}} Years ago I ran DbMail V1.2 on a pair of SECC 450s; 300 or

}}
}} Sounds like you have a nimble setup which (trimmed Debian
}} Sarge kernel) should leave your resources for your mail
}} applications. If you start getting into SpamAssassin and
}} such it might be an idea to pipe the filtering to another
}} box. I find with the new postfix, though, you can reject
}} most of the junk on the front end and apart from the very
}} careless users you can get away without Spam and virus
}} filtering using Postfix various_access, body_check and
}} header_check hashes to simply reject the trash.
}}
}} Paul's note on LDAP is important to you. It's a coming
}} thing. Your choice of OS's may be right on the mark to be an
}} early adopter if you have the time.
}} I believe there is a lot of Debian experience on this list.
