Hello, There was a very similar problem reported on the mailing list a 2-4ish months back .. from memory, I think the dbmail programs were being run as uid root. I don't know why that would kill other processes, that seems like a bug, but I think when running as non-root it stopped it... but my memory may be faulty, too. :)
