put it into Makefile and that did it. Of course then I ran into the
timezone bug in the imaputil.c but the proposed temporary workaround
got me over that.

"-L/ usr/local/lib" (from your output) space after first slash, I
think your should remove it.
Hmm, couldn't find anything like that in the Makefile...
Anyways, compiles now so I can start testin the 2.1 branch.
