Yes I figured out that already from reading this list for long time...
I was more like after solutions. Since I cannot find any settings

Searching is mandatory in IMAP, sorting is optional. A server reports
that it can sort by advertising the SORT capability.
So is imapd reporting that's capable of searching and if yes, can I
somehow remove it?
You could try try telling pine that the server is a loser. Instead of
specifying mailbox {blah.example.org}INBOX you specify
{blah.example.org/loser}INBOX. But I'm afraid even that may not work.
Searching really is mandatory.
