Jorge:
Glad to hear "It's working fine".

Ref: Your question about internal users.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

1) "[EMAIL PROTECTED]@__" --> Is indeed, as the name suggests, the internal delivery agent. This DBMail-system pseudo-user is an interim mail handler which passes mail onward to user mailboxes. This user is never 'messed with' or DBMail breaks.

2) "anyone" --> Is also an internal system user created to facilitate the use of Access Control Lists (ACL) for "_Public_" mail boxes. RFC 2086 (http://www.canadaemails.com/rfc2086.htm) is quite instructive on this. Also You might visit the following links for more help: http://library.mobrien.com/dbmailadministrator/demo/dbmailadministrator/DBMA_help.htm#acl and to see ACL's at work: go to http://dbma.ca/demo/ and select "ACList" and press "Go" and you will see examples of "Anyone's" access to public Imap4 folders.

Don't forget to read the DBMail man pages and also there are some very instructive ["readme" and "install"]-type files in the DBMail tarball/CVS/port/or SVN you downloaded to get this far.

There is also a growing wealth of information here: http://www.dbmail.org/dokuwiki/doku.php

Ref: Your question: "doesn't dbmail-imapd refresh automatic?"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I believe you are describing the behaviour of the MUA (Mail User Agent i.e.: Thunderbird) which on a user-configured schedule makes a request to the IMAP server for the latest headers and or (in the case of some MUAs) full sets of headers/body/attachment and even more info of varied types if desired. (See the RFC.)

The mail client's (MUA) request is made to a specific resolved host as configured in the MUA. In short, your IMAP server.

After authenticating the requester and delivering the requested information (i.e.: (FETCH (FLAGS (\Recent) BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (FROM DATE TO)] ...etc), the connection is closed either on consent or by timeout on the server side. The header list which apears in your MUA's display of a mailbox's contents (i.e.: "INBOX") is refreshed only after the request-response exchange is made anew. That can happen on a configured schedule or by initiating a new request per account with a mouse click or menu-select action or whatever GUI-thingy the MUA offers. In short, the MUA issues the request and the server responds to the request if able and not the reverse as you suggest.

RFC 3501nicely spells out how IMAP4V1 actually works. See the RFC at http://www.canadaemails.com/rfc3501.htm .

best...
Mike

Ok, It's working fine either imap and pop3
But now i have 2 questions, for what is the default user "anyone" and the
[EMAIL PROTECTED]@__ ?
I have some messages for the [EMAIL PROTECTED]@__, how can i read
them?

Jorge Bastos

And another one, doesn't dbmail-imapd refresh automatic?
in the mail client, im in the inbox folder, a message is sent for this user,
shouldn't he be displayed with having to make a refresh in the client? at
least the other imap servers do this.
Jorge

When using imap, if i recieve a message with 10kb size, my curmail_size
is 10kb, if i delete the message (thunderbird move the email to trash
folder) i get 20kb, and when i delete message from the trash folder
quota i get the exact same 20kb of curmail_size.
Then i run the util:
dbmail-util -d -y
dbmail-util -p -y

and the curmail_size has 20kb of size.
Am i missing something or is it a but?
With pop3 quota works fine

So what do the records involved have to say? The ones in dbmail_messages,
dbmail_messageblks and dbmail_physmessage? Could these messageblks
possibly be connected to messages in another mailbox?
