No, nothing in the debug, bug messages are getting with chars all
misconfigured.
I have the database set to utf8 and collation utf8_general_ci.
In html emails this is easy to pass bu defining the encoding, but with text
one's there's the problem.
It wouldn't be best to have a options in dbmail.conf for charset and
collation?
This is just an opinion, if it was possible and it's an easy thing to do.

2075:2076). The collation for the connection is now set to the collation
used for the database.
Are you getting messages in the debug logs that mention collation?
