That's _exactly_ the idea: freeze your mailsystem, and don't accept new
messages.

Don't count on it. Assume mail will start bouncing. Better be safe than
sorry. Mail will start queing at the sending mtas which is no problem at
all.

The packages do not concern themselves with the database at all!!! So,
no automatic upgrades of databases, no automatic installation of
database, no automatic removal of database.

dbmail-sieve requires libsieve. If you use the libsieve package from
debian.nfgd.net you're all set.
