Yes, since I don't think the Scott wanted to ask which MTA was superieur, but just which one works best with dbmail. And considering that I think postfix and sendmail equal. (Not wanting to start a flame-war here).

So stating information on the wiki about message volumn,MTA and other stuff should be measured upon dbmail. Maybe we can consider a fixed set of measurement rules so all present similar stuff.

Best regards,

Marc

I recall seeing a draft on the wiki but IMO, it was just too busy to be of any use. If stats like this are going to be of any value, then only the core dbmail-specific items should be documented. Things to avoid would be:

1. Other than sieve, anything having to do with content filtering (spam, virii, etc)

2. Anything based on "number of messages (insert action here)". There are simply too many environment-specific variables here that come into play. Some of which include mail topology (eg. distributed vs. monolithic design), networking pipe, dns reliability, and user habits.

3. more but I'm sure you get the idea :

Best,
Adam

Wasn't there a former plan to put this stuff somewhere on the wiki?
