Hi,
Well, it's not really a problem with Innodb as you can just use
multiple datafiles...
Yes thats right... but if you have de default mysql config
innodb_data_file_path = /ibdata/ibdata1:10M:autoextend
in your my.cnf file with mandriva 2007,
you have a Time Bomb, and you will have to
configure "Who knows when" multiple datafiles "in a rush for your users".

Hi All,
Just to let anybody know...
Luckely I found this out on a test server...
Your Mysql/Innodb file will max out at 16Gig if you install
dbmail on Mandriva 2007.
This is a cut and paste....
Previous versions of Mandriva/Mandrake default ext3 block size to
2k under most
circumstance allowing TB sized files to bs saved. Mandriva 2007
defaults to 1k
which limits the maximum file size to 16GB which, whilst delivering a slight
performance improvement is likely to be a problem for many people -
especially
those dealing with video media. I have hit the problem already dealing with
voice recording.
Once the file system is formatted it is not possible to change it without
copying data off the machine and reformatting the partition. Consequenly I
believe this bug should be marked as high severity
This characteristic is dependant on the default action of mkfs.ext2
which may
have changed recently.
The solution (ideally) is to add drop down list under an Advanced
Menu to allow
block size to be selected by the user. Failing that the 2k should be set
explicitly using the -b option to mkfs.ext2
The workaround is to kill the install after the initial formatting, then
launching Rescue mode and reformatting and running tune2fs manually
(or doing
the same using some other method - e.g. using a Live CD) then reinstalling
choosing to use existing partitions and clearing the formatting checkbox to
ensure the manual formatting is not overwritten.
Well, it's not really a problem with Innodb as you can just use
multiple datafiles...
