Referring to that old thread. I'm still struggling with imapsync. There
are some folders where the e-mail is permanently sync. Say I have 10
messages in the original Cyrus e-mail Folder, and I run the sync 20
times, then I have 200 e-mails in the destination folder on dbmail.
Most of the folders behave normal, but some show this strange
behaviour. I can't find the reason, and the author of imapsync doesn't
answer my e-mails.

Did anybody experience the same? Here are my options to sync from cyrus
to imapsync:
imapsync
 --host1 $cyrushost --user1 u1 --authuser1 u1 --password1 p1 --ssl1 \
 --host2 $dbmailhost --user2 u2 --authuser2 u2 --password2 p2 \
 --authmech2 LOGIN \
 --skipheader '^(X-|Received|MIME-|Content-|Disposition-|From|Cc|Reply-|
Subject|To|DomainKey|Date).*' --skipsize \
 --sep1 '/' --syncinternaldates \
 --regextrans2 's/^user.//' --delete2 --expunge2
