It solves the unique ID problem for MySQL, but not for IMAP. We've had some very extensive investigations of these issues on the dbmail-dev list a year or two back, and basically figured out what has to be done, but decided that getting everything solid in the process model first was more important. I welcome everyone's interest in this work, but would prefer someone offer to write the HA code or contract for its development. Sorry to be a wet blanket!
