No, because you *want* your mailserver to order the emails on received date. i.e. if it takes a message up to 4 days to be deliverd, you don't want it to be at the bottom of your maillist. This date is not part of the message it self, just the way it is presented at the imap server.

However you still need to know the date the message was send, which is stated in the date header *in* the message.
