why retrieve this from LDAP ?
my bet is to have that information in the dbmail_users table in sql

If I'd want that, I would probably use LDAP. Although I don't know if
one can get all the field's via dbmail-users.

Its not really part of the business of delivering and retrieving emails
though, and most people aren't going to use it.
If they want that information it will be in some other DB (probably
LDAP) and it would need to be duplicated there duplication is bad.
