I use Thunderbird, 1.5.10 on linux/KDE. With 2.2.2 there were no
problems regarding different charsets. Since upgrading to SVN head which
introduced this setting in dbmail.conf:
default_msg_encoding = WINDOWS-1257
windows-1257 is baltic, that's what most of our Windows boxes with
Outlook have set.
The problem.
When I sent an email to my college who has an umlaut (ΓΌ / u") in his
name, Thunderbird started displaying gibberish in the Sent folder's
Recipient column, elsewhere it's OK. This started after the upgrade from
2.2.2.
The gibberish is the sort that you get when you try to view UTF-8 in
ISO-8859-1.
How do I fix that, or is this a bug?
