Yes, DBMail 2.2.5rc2 is much improved and this issue has been fixed. There are several known bugs in 2.2.5rc2 that have since been fixed in the dbmail_2_2_branch svn tree. If you don't mind waiting about a week, we'll probably have 2.2.5rc3 available.
