With pop3 outlook remembers the messageID it sees to check if a
message is new or not.
The Recent and Seen flags have no influence here.
If these id's are kept as is I'm good to go.
If not, any other idea's?

From a code inspection, it looks like the IMAP flags \Recent and
\Seen
are not related to the POP3 NEW / SEEN status. I haven't tested
yet, but
I suspect that if you use imapsync to migrate a mailbox, all messages
will be NEW as far as POP3 is concerned.

Hi,
I'm planning to move the dbmail database from one server to another,
and meamwhile want to
convert the data to UTF-8. What is the best practise here, make a
dump edit and copy,
or is it better to start a new database and use imapsync?
How does imapsync behave for pop3 users who leave their mail on the
server?
Kind regards,
