Yes I knew that 5.1 was a beta, but unfortunately it wasn't clear (to
me) when I installed the machine some time ago.
Downgrading to 5.0 would probably be the best solution but I'm afraid
it would take a bunch of work.
Actually it's very unclear to me the logic behind the versioning. I
supposed the 5.1 beta to become a stable version somewhen... but it
seems not.
I'll update it and let you know.

Yup, the cascades are gone again. I'm attaching to the mail a

You are running 5.1.15-beta from the looks of the dump. Kick you own
ass. The mysql site clearly states:
"""
MySQL 5.1 Community Edition - Beta Development Release
NOTE: This beta release, as any other pre-production release,
should not
be installed on production level systems or systems with critical
data.
It is good practice to back up your data before installing any new
version of software. Although MySQL has worked very hard to ensure a
high level of quality, protect your data by making a backup as you
would
for any other software beta release. MySQL generally recommends
that you
dump and reload your tables from any previous version to upgrade to
5.1.

Also, this appears to be a bug specific for 5.1.12 up untill 5.1.15-
beta
read:

and either downgrade to 5.0 or to the latest 5.1 (caveats apply).
