The user reports that the 2nd graph (attached in my OP in german) is the
auto IMAP check and each lasts 45 seconds. Looks like there's about a
minute delay between each query. But
1) why does it make traffic during 45 seconds?
2) why is the traffic increased from 150KB to 2MB per day?
Could there be something we can optimize? I have no idea where to start
searching.

you could see what the traffic is?
tcpdump it to a file then run "wireshark" or ethereal over it
