What version of dbmail and squirrelmail are you using?

I've had that problem with dbmail 2.2.5 and squirrelmail 1.4.11 (on freebsd
5.3)

The pretty old Squirrelmail 1.5.1 contains bugs in the message decoding (fix
to the php code is mentioned in their faq) so you can try with that, but
frankly I don't think 1.5 is "there" yet.

I've found with dbmail 2.2.8rc1 and squirrelmail 1.4.11 (using the html view
plugin and view as html as default) does allow you to see messages without
text parts successfully without the error you describe. However if you
select the 0 byte text part from the list of attachments it will show you
the same error - a minor inconvenience though.

I've found this bug seems to effect a lot of web frontends, for instance
Roundcubemail shows the message ok but generates an error inplace of the
empty text, but for what it's worth one system that works is egroupware,
which successfully reports the message has no text!
