Don't compile, just use a binary.

and start imapd this way:

>>>    vi /etc/default/dbmail
>>>
>>>    START_IMAPD=true
>>>
>>>
>>> Start dbmail, the new "true" setting in defaults will start dbmail-imapd
>>>    /etc/init.d/dbmail start
