Yes, this is planned for the next libSieve branch, which I've finally had some time to work on recently and have already got into a mostly thread-safe state, along with some improvements in parsing strategy.
I don't have any estimate for when I'll have variables support ready; it's probably a 2-3 day project, gating on time and specific inspiration on how to design the code.
