I use reiserfs, so no inodes to run out of.
Anyway, happened again. I couldn't get rid of the problem, so I finally
restarted the server. Still didn't help! Well, that's when it hit me,
that Thunderbird was caching the problematic state it was in. After TB
restart it worked again. I don't know what causes this problem, but next
time I'll remember to restart TB after every change I do on the server
to find the culprit.
