Kevin, Since you are just trying it out, give the 2.3 branch a test. When 2.3.6 comes out, I would say you would be relatively safe to move to the new 2.3.x storage infrastructure. A few more changes are going to be in the database schema in 2.3.6. Possible a couple more that I'm working on that will simplify it a bit.
