Hello, the simple answers are always the best.
the server use to run FreeBSD, using the jail feature. it had lots of limitations regarding permission and no real 127.0.0.1. when it changed to ubuntu/vmware things where improved. in this instance i assumed this was a limitation of not having access to '/tmp'. once i read you responce i changed the permission to 1777 and now dbmail will run and '/tmp' is available to everyone. thankyou and regards john Bugzilla from [email protected] wrote: > > Hi > > The question is why is /tmp not writeable > > /tmp should have chmod 1777 which means everybody can write > in the folder but only the owner has permissions to his > files.
