hi paul you remember the re-alive of "dbmail_auto_replies"?
i agree with you that bcc-mails should not trigger a reply but if To/Cc is on the left side of dbmail_aliases there should be one because you have no userid for aliases and so mails to them are not answered which is not what the user expects and making only physical mailboxes is not a solution (client-config, storage, quota...)
