Maybe a thunderbird 8 bug? In the 'past' thunderbird would simply call
'x DELETE mailbox' on all mailboxes under 'Trash'.
Two ways to get a handle on this:
- trace DBMail: set file_logging_levels=64 which logs INFO messages.
This will show all that is received by, and sent by the dbmail process.
- trace TB:
if you run TB using a wrapper, you can log all IMAP activity from TB:
