Yes I am. I have testet with Thunderbird and MS Outlook against dbmail and
Exchange Server. I also got many mails from customers, using different mail
clients. The problem only happens on dbmail, never on Exchange.

Are you absolutely certain these extensions are added by DBMail, and not
by your mail client?
