Hi Pablo,
Thanks for your answer. I will give this a try.
The installation went ok, I got the REST service working with the "tiny"
dataset.
At the bottom of this message I add some comments on how this went.
I am starting to read the internationalization text.
There are some steps I do not understand yet, but understanding may come after
proceeding step by step.
For Dutch Datasets redirects_nl and disambiguations_nl are missing.
I suppose this implies that I need to do
mvn scala:run
in the extraction_framework directory after changing some settings and reading
some more?
Thanks again,
Lourens
Remarks on the procedure for installing:
I am installing on two architectures, Mac OS X Lion and Debian Squeeze which is
a 32 GB machine
(but shared with others).
The suggestion about adding a mirror in settings.xml in the FAQ is really
necessary.
After testing the rest service (on the tiny dataset) of spotlight-0.5 with
some text of my own, I got an error
java.util.NoSuchElementException: head of empty listhead of empty
listscala.collection.immutable.Nil$.head(List.scala:371),
I found an explanation in the mailing list:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=CA%2B3KvkOPntZXZHHGJ_oBeHzX9izBS%2BdGw6DtAfC_u4a29wY8UQ%40mail.gmail.com&forum_name=dbp-spotlight-users"
After that I made sure the text I submitted contained at least one known
annotation. Then the server responds without error.
(I added the words "oil" and "Halliburton" to my text).
I haven't tested the server on dbpedia-spotlight-latest yet.
- I managed to install extraction_framework (
- the svn URL should be updated to
https://github.com/dbpedia-spotlight/dbpedia-spotlight/trunk
)
mvn install in dbpedia-spotlight-latest went ok.

Hi Lourens,
We would like very much to support Dutch language. As far as I know, nobody has
yet tried it out. It should be a reasonably simple process.
Have you already managed to build the system from source?

There should be more guidance here:

Hi,
I just started looking at DBP-Spotlight and managed to install it locally.
Has there been any effort by anyone on supporting the Dutch language?
If not, could you comment on the feasibility of doing such a thing?
Thanks,
Lourens van der Meij
