Hello Ed, Richard >> 2. Also, I see in the docs [3] that dbpedia integrates the data dumps >> from all the wikipedias, not just the English language one (which is >> awesome). I also notice that the URIs for dbpedia use English labels, >> like http://dbpedia.org/page/Library. If there will ever be URIs based on the French > version, they would likely be something like http://fr.dbpedia.org/... > > Interesting. Suppose you define at some point the URI http://fr.dbpedia.org/resource/Bibliotheque What would be the relationship between this URI and http://dbpedia.org/resource/Library One could assert apparently safely the following, even if Pat is monitoring the list ;-) <http://fr.dbpedia.org/resource/Bibliotheque> owl:sameAs <http://dbpedia.org/resource/Library>
But in this case, what would be the use of this new URI? Others can imagine that French-speaking and English-speaking wikipedians are not exactly tuned on what a Library or Bibliothèque is. For example the categories in the two wikipedias might differ or even be mutually inconsistent (not to mention separately, which is another story). Of course the 'multilingual' URIs make sense for things defined in a non-english WP, but not in the english WP. Are there any plans in dbpedia team to integrate such 'multilingual' URIs (so to speak) in a foreseeable future?
