You should also check out the previous blog post which is about the

Notably the currently named "rick" component which will be renamed
"org.apache.stanbol.entityhub" and will allow developers to provide
local proxy cache with solr-based fulltext index for remote entity
sources such as DBpedia, Geonames, ...

That should allow you to build reliable linkeddata-driven application
that don't break when lookup.dbpedia.org is down (and relieve the load
on the DBpedia and geonames servers) :)
