DBpedia has an ontology hierarchy of it own [1,2]. In this ontology,
poker player is a subclass of person:
dbpedia-owl:PokerPlayer rdfs:subClassOf dbpedia-owl:Person

But the DBpedia hierarchy is not necessarily equal to the one of Cyc.
In fact, in Cyc, poker player is a subclass of athlete (see
http://sw.opencyc.org/concept/Mx8Ngh4rY_nOYBt-QdiS5seAT9e7DQ-naHR0cDovL2RicGVkaWEub3JnL29udG9sb2d5L1Bva2VyUGxheWVy).

So I guess it all depends on which ontology hierarchy you want to use.
