Hi,
the extraction of the DBpeida type is based on the kind of infobox
used on a page, in this case Infobox Military Person. Also, the
resource mainly has properties that apply to a person
(dbpedia-owl:birthPlace, dbpedia-owl:deathPlace).
So maybe the title needs to be fixed. ;)
Right... I tried and there is no "Infobox Military Career" infobox.
Across different career pages, editors seems to use the person infobox
to recall the main information for the person the career is about. It
seems a bit hard to push all wikipedia authors to avoid doing so on
any career page so could the fix be done on DBpedia side?
No, there is a limit to what easily fixed with the current state of the
DBpedia approach. We already have the mapping, which tackles the big
chunk. The fine tuning should be done on Wikipedia itself. Maybe you
could go to Wikipedia and change the infobox to Infobox_Military_Careers
or so?
I think it is time not only to make the approach and the code better and
smarter at extracting, but also to fix Wikipedia itself. Maybe we can
make new infoboxes based on the DBpedia ontology? With nice properties
and such...
The yago:MilitaryCareers is always correctly assigned, thus checking
that no (sub)class of Person is used when a resource is already a
yago:MilitaryCareers should do the trick.
If you'd design and implement such a check and it is reasonable fast,
we would be happy to integrate it.

Sebastian

Hello,
There is something surprising about this resource:
http://dbpedia.org/page/Military_career_of_Napoleon_Bonaparte
It says that the military career of Napoleon is an instance of
http://dbpedia.org/ontology/Person,
http://dbpedia.org/ontology/MilitaryPerson and
http://dbpedia.org/class/yago/MilitaryCareers but only that last one
seems
to be accurate. Is it something that can be fixed, if it should be?
Cheers,
Christophe
