Hi!

Is variable binding supported by the DBpedia SPARQL endpoint (or
Virtuoso)? When I try to ask the genre of musician Josh Turner, the
following SPARQL query is generated with sesame:
"queryLn=SPARQL&query= SELECT * WHERE { ?person
<http://dbpedia.org/ontology/genre> ?Y} LIMIT 7
&infer=true&$?person=<http://dbpedia.org/resource/Josh_Turner>"

>From the answer it can be shown that person=... is neglected, and
musician-genre pairs are returned. When I replace ?person with Josh
Turner's IRI, Country music is returned correctly.

I uploaded the sample code:

So is parameter binding supported? (Or is it relevant, like in SQL to
defense against SPARQL injection, or like? Or from query optimisation point
of view?)
Thanks,
C.M.
