Hi,
I'm trying to look at the names of entities that use non-ascii character,
such as Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. About a week ago the results
started coming back with characters that don't belong to those languages.
For example, this command yields names in Russian and Japanese that don't
use Russian or Japanese characters:
curl -o bullock.xml -D headers.txt
http://dbpedia.org/sparql?query=select%20distinct%20%3Fstring%20where%20%7B%3Chttp%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FSandra_Bullock%3E%20rdfs%3Alabel%20%3Fstring%7D
I see things like this in the output:
<result>
<binding name="string"><literal
xml:lang="ja">サンドラ・ブãƒÂック</literal></binding>
</result>
Is this something funny that I'm doing? The headers coming back from the
sparql server indicate that it's UTF-8, but it looks like nonsense to me.
If this belongs on some sort of bug discussion list, please send me a
pointer to it. Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
ps: Thanks to everyone working on it for making this great resource and for
making it available to anyone.
